A fire broke out last night at a beach pavilion on Texel. No injuries were reported, but the restaurant in De Koog was completely destroyed, according to broadcaster NH.
The fire started around 1:30 a.m., and the fire service allowed it to burn out in a controlled manner before beginning extinguishing efforts. Nearby beach venues were not affected, as confirmed by a safety region spokesperson.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the police are investigating. The area has been cordoned off, reports the broadcaster.
