Fire Destroys Beach Pavilion in Zandvoort

A significant fire in Zandvoort has destroyed a beach pavilion, which is beyond saving, according to a spokesperson from the Kennemerland Safety Region, as reported by NH Nieuws. “The floor has collapsed, making it impossible to extinguish from inside.” The fire brigade is allowing the controlled burn of the pavilion, and substantial smoke is being emitted.

An NL-alert was sent to nearby residents advising them to close windows and doors and turn off automatic air conditioning to prevent smoke from entering. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Before the fire started, people were reportedly seen near the pavilion, and police are investigating. The pavilion was unoccupied, and no injuries have been reported by the safety region.
