Zeist council urges relocation of clinic after incidents

The Zeist municipal council has passed a motion urging the local government to “strongly advocate for the relocation of the Fivoor clinic from Den Dolder.” This decision follows two recent incidents involving the clinic. On Sunday morning, a 44-year-old man escaped from the clinic during supervised leave; he was undergoing treatment for dangerous driving-related assault.

The patient was apprehended a few hours later after an extensive police search. Two weeks earlier, a 76-year-old woman was fatally stabbed, and the suspect, a 27-year-old, was also a Fivoor patient.

The clinic faced scrutiny in 2017 when Anne Faber was killed by Michael P., another patient.
