Wrong-way driver stopped near Aachen after 30 km chase

A wrong-way driver traveled from Belgium into the Netherlands on the A76, driving against traffic for over 30 kilometers at speeds up to 130 km/h before being stopped near Aachen, Germany. No accidents occurred despite several close encounters with oncoming vehicles.

The driver, a 70-year-old German, was not arrested but taken to a hospital. His driver’s license was confiscated, and further investigation is underway.

The incident was initially reported to Limburg police at 4:00 AM, prompting a pursuit with sirens and signals.
