Utrecht police station evacuated after incident

The Paardenveld police station in central Utrecht was evacuated around 2:00 PM today due to a “suspicious situation,” according to police reports. A large cordon has been established around the station on Kroonstraat to allow emergency services to work safely.

A police spokesperson stated that the station is nearly empty following the evacuation. An individual reportedly entered the station claiming to have an explosive device, although this has not been confirmed.

No arrests have been made at this time.
