Two killed in flight collision in southeastern France

In southeastern France, two individuals were killed when their small aircraft collided with a paraglider. The aircraft, carrying a 58-year-old and a 26-year-old man, crashed, resulting in their deaths.

The incident occurred in Méribel-les-Allues, in the Savoie region. According to the French news site Le Dauphine, the aircraft crashed into an unoccupied chalet.

An eyewitness reported hearing an aircraft and then saw a ski falling and the paragliders landing in the trees. The witness noted that the aircraft flew behind a building and did not see it hit the chalet.

The paragliders were unharmed but in shock. Emergency services responded extensively to the scene, but the unstable roof structure of the chalet complicated the recovery efforts.

The cause of the crash and the circumstances are under investigation.
