Two Dead in Vroomshoop House Fire

A house fire last night in Vroomshoop, Overijssel, resulted in two fatalities. Neighbors reported to Oost that an explosion, possibly caused by fireworks, preceded the fire.

They described the blast as so intense that floors shook in several homes. However, the police could not confirm an explosion.

The intense fire broke out around 8:00 PM in a row house on Meidoornlaan, prompting significant firefighting efforts. The two residents, a man and a woman, were pulled from the house, but sadly did not survive.

Three dogs also perished in the fire. By 10:30 PM, the fire was under control.

This morning, the police confirmed the residents’ deaths. The fire also damaged a neighboring house, leading to the evacuation of residents from three homes in the block as a precaution.

The energy provider Enexis temporarily cut power to twenty homes.
