Trump and Zelensky meet in Paris amid Ukraine war discussions

Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met in Paris for the Notre-Dame reopening. They, along with French President Emmanuel Macron, discussed the Ukraine war.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for Trump’s resolute stance and called the meeting productive. He thanked Macron for hosting.

European leaders, including Macron, aim to persuade Trump to maintain U.S. military support for Ukraine against Russia. Trump’s campaign promise to swiftly end the war within 24 hours concerns European leaders, fearing a withdrawal of U.S. support.
