An accident involving a truck resulted in the closure of the A28 near the Hattemerbroek junction for several hours. The guardrail requires repair.
The road was closed in both directions, but traffic toward Amersfoort can now resume. Traffic heading to Zwolle is being redirected via the parallel lane.
The truck crossed the median at the start of the night and ended up on the opposite carriageway, significantly damaging the guardrail, according to Rijkswaterstaat. The truck was removed from the guardrail using cranes, and the road needed cleaning due to a diesel spill.
It is expected that the issues will be resolved later in the morning.
