In a court session in Dordrecht, the widow of Ron van Uffelen, a plumber from Vlaardingen, expressed the ongoing fears of her children due to a series of bombings targeting their family. Van Uffelen died on August 12 of last year after being hospitalized with heart problems, which his widow attributes to the relentless threats and bombings they endured for fourteen months.
Today, 19-year-old Rodynho E. faced trial, accused of attempting a bombing on August 14, two days after Van Uffelen’s death, with fireworks that failed to detonate. E. allegedly coerced others into participating.
The public prosecutor seeks a 3.5-year prison sentence, with six months suspended, while E.’s lawyer calls for acquittal. The motive behind the attacks remains unknown, as none of the thirty suspects detained, with nine convictions, have disclosed any information.
The widow highlighted the family’s struggle for answers amid their grief.
