Train Evacuated in Amsterdam Zuid Due to Suspicious Situation

A train at Amsterdam Zuid station carrying approximately 300 passengers was evacuated due to a suspicious situation, confirmed by local police following reports from AT5. The police spokesperson could not provide specific details about the incident.

The evacuation proceeded calmly, according to the police. AT5 reported that passengers were instructed to leave the train with their hands up and were searched on the platform, though the police have not confirmed this.

Involvement of the military police could not be confirmed, but it is common in such situations. A passenger told the station that the train overshot the platform and came to a stop, initially announced as a technical issue.

A few minutes later, a girl walked through the train instructing everyone to disembark with their hands up. “We were searched one by one and allowed to leave the platform,” the passenger noted, adding that the process was calm and there was no panic.

Other passengers waited below and were not permitted to ascend.
