Three men charged with exploitation and abuse of minor

Three middle-aged men are suspected by the Public Prosecution Service of long-term exploitation and abuse of a minor boy, as revealed during a preliminary court session in Utrecht. A 60-year-old man from Huizen and two men aged 59 and 54 from Amersfoort allegedly exploited the vulnerable boy as a sex slave for years.

The abuse reportedly began nine years ago when the boy was 11 and had run away from home. He was taken in by one of the suspects, who acted as a father figure and provided him with hard drugs like GHB and ketamine, leading to severe addiction.

The suspects allegedly created profiles on dating apps like Grindr, arranging sexual encounters for the teenager. The abuse only ended in late September 2024 when the case surfaced, as reported by RTV Utrecht.

How the abuse was discovered remains unclear, but police received reports of severe abuse and sexual exploitation, prompting a major investigation. The exact number of perpetrators involved remains unknown, but the prosecution views the three suspects as part of a criminal organization aimed at exploitation and human trafficking.

The man who took the boy in is also suspected of sexually assaulting a nephew, with child pornography found on his phone, which is under investigation to determine if he created it. After the suspects’ arrests, the victim went to a rehabilitation clinic and is now receiving treatment for psychological issues.

According to the public prosecutor, the victim’s condition is improving, and his statements are becoming clearer. The investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional suspects and victims.

One suspect’s phone is yet to be examined. A new session is scheduled for April 4.
