The series of explosions in the Tussen de Vaarten district of Almere is targeting a specific house, according to Omroep Flevoland citing police sources. Initially, it appeared one of the explosions occurred at a neighbor’s house.
Police also disclosed that a minor was arrested last Monday, which coincided with the start of the explosions. Ammunition was found and seized from the arrested minor.
Whether there is a connection between the arrest and the explosions is unknown. The police have not commented on whether the minor was arrested in the house that is the target of the explosions.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has not disclosed the age of the minor suspect, who has since been released. His involvement is under investigation.
A third explosion occurred last night at the house on John Raedeckerstraat, marking the third such incident this week. Explosions also took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in the street, resulting in a resident sustaining minor injuries.
Mayor Hein van der Loo decided to close the house last night.
