Survivors Found in Cellar After The Hague Explosion

Two individuals survived a significant explosion in The Hague last Saturday while sleeping in the cellar of a café on Tarwekamp. The survivors, identified as a bartender and a regular patron by the café owner, were mostly unharmed but hospitalized due to inhaling smoke.

The owner, who spoke to Omroep West, stated that it was common for patrons to stay after hours at Café Bar Rosa, although he wished to remain anonymous. The café was destroyed, but no one is reported missing.

The explosion also impacted nearby businesses, including a bridal shop and a wine store, the latter of which reported minor damage despite the collapse, according to owner Ingo Wewer. The adjacent art studio owner, Leidy van Leeuwen, expressed distress over losing her work while acknowledging the greater loss faced by the displaced residents.
