Storm Herminia causes severe flooding in France

Storm Herminia has caused severe flooding in France, with the northwest under a red alert. Emergency services expect water levels to rise due to anticipated rainfall.

Red alerts are issued for Ille-et-Vilaine, Loire-Atlantique, and Morbihan, where residents should prepare for “exceptionally severe” flooding, according to the French weather institute Météo. Four other departments face an orange alert.
