Police have arrested seven additional individuals aged 14 to 21 from Amsterdam, suspected of public violence in the Nieuw-West district’s Plein ’40-’45. The unrest occurred on the night of November 11 to 12, amid an existing emergency order in Amsterdam due to previous disturbances related to the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv football match.
Dozens of people caused damage, threw fireworks, and targeted vehicles. A tram caught fire from fireworks, and a bus was pelted with stones while antisemitic slurs were shouted.
The riot police eventually quelled the unrest, according to local broadcaster AT5. Previously, arrests were made for setting a police car on fire and assaulting a cyclist.
Police investigations are ongoing, with more arrests possible.
