In the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, at least three individuals were injured early this morning due to a Russian missile strike, according to the city’s mayor. He reported on Telegram that ballistic missiles severely hit civilian targets.
The Ukrainian Minister of Energy stated that the attacks targeted the energy sector, also involving cruise missiles. This has resulted in limited energy availability.
In Kyiv, air raid alarms sounded, prompting people to seek shelter. Since spring, Russian forces have repeatedly targeted Ukrainian power plants, drastically reducing their capacity and causing frequent blackouts.
Last night, an attack on an apartment building in Kryvy Rih, President Zelensky’s birthplace, injured fifteen people. The strike coincided with the president’s Christmas address, during which he remarked that Ukrainians wish to see a Christmas star when they look up, not Iranian drones or Russian missiles.
