A senior Russian general was killed this morning in a bomb attack. The explosive was hidden in an electric scooter parked near an apartment complex in Moscow.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, commander of the Russian army’s nuclear, chemical, and biological protection forces, died along with his assistant, as reported by authorities. The area surrounding the attack site has been cordoned off.
It remains unclear whether Kirillov was the intended target or if he lived in the apartment complex. Last week, Ukrainian media reported that a Russian rocket scientist was shot near Moscow, allegedly by a Ukrainian intelligence service.
