Roofers’ van damaged by fire again in Den Bosch

In Den Bosch, a roofer’s van was damaged by fire early this morning, with police suspecting arson. The fire at Monseigneur van Schaikstraat was reported at around 6:00 AM.

While no injuries were reported, the van sustained significant damage, including a melted hood. The fire also spread to a nearby car, complicating extinguishing efforts due to a ruptured fuel tank, according to Omroep Brabant.

It is unclear if the same owner possesses both vehicles, and police have not yet contacted the owner(s). This marks the second incident this week involving fire damage to a roofer’s van in Den Bosch, with the previous one occurring on Christmas Eve, the fourth such attack on the same roofer.

Surveillance footage shows an individual approaching by bicycle and appearing to throw something at the vehicle before a flash is seen. There is an ongoing conflict among roofers in Den Bosch, with over twenty explosive incidents targeting cars and homes this year.

A roofer told Omroep Brabant in October that the conflict stems from attempts to eliminate competition, particularly during dry weather when work is scarce.
