Ridouan Taghi Communicated with Son Through Lawyer

Ridouan Taghi exchanged over 8,000 messages from prison with his eldest son and other contacts via his lawyer, Inez Weski, according to the Public Prosecution Service. These messages, some of which are preserved, reportedly discussed continuing Taghi’s drug trade.

The prosecution has no evidence that Weski passed on violent orders, suggesting that might have been a boundary for her. The trial against Weski, accused of participating in Taghi’s criminal organization, began today in the Rotterdam court.

Taghi, held in the high-security prison in Vught, could only speak freely with his lawyers. Weski allegedly aided his organization by passing on messages.

The motives behind Weski’s actions remain unclear, though the prosecution still considers the possibility of coercion. Weski, citing confidentiality, has not made any statements.

Her attorney, Geert-Jan Knoops, emphasized her 45-year service to the justice system, deserving respect despite the investigation.
