Record streak of frost-free days in the Netherlands

Despite local icy conditions and snowfall in the southeast earlier this year, a prolonged cold period in the Netherlands remains absent. It was reported yesterday that there have been no frost days in De Bilt for 756 consecutive days.

A frost day is defined as a day when the temperature remains below freezing all day. This streak is a new record, as reported by Weeronline.

The last frost day in De Bilt was on December 17, 2022. The previous record was 755 days, set between 1974 and 1976.
