In Syria, rebels from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) are advancing towards the city of Homs. Verified footage shows their presence in Talbiseh, approximately 10 kilometers north of Homs.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports that thousands have fled Homs to escape the impending conflict. Last week, HTS launched a new offensive in collaboration with another rebel group, capturing significant territory from Assad’s government forces, including Aleppo.
Yesterday, the rebels reached Hama, a strategic junction that connects northern and southern Syria. If the rebels gain control in this region, it could sever Assad’s access to the Mediterranean Sea and isolate a Russian naval base.
