Real Estate Tycoon Arrested for €15 Million Debt

The Dutch Public Prosecution Service has arrested a man for an outstanding debt of 15 million euros to the Dutch State. According to news agency ANP, the individual is real estate entrepreneur Jan-Dirk Paarlberg.

While the prosecution did not release his name, they stated he is a 67-year-old man from Maarssen. He is being held in custody for a year, during which he must settle the debt.

In 2019, the Supreme Court ruled that Paarlberg owed 24 million euros after being found guilty of laundering millions extorted by Willem Holleeder from real estate trader Willem Endstra, who was known as the underworld’s banker.
