Public pharmacies seek court action to stop strike

The Public Pharmacies Employers’ Association is pursuing a legal injunction to prevent next week’s announced strike by pharmacy assistants, fearing it could jeopardize patient safety. The hearing is scheduled for tomorrow or the day after in Utrecht.

Unions announced yesterday that employees will stop work on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, which could lead to a nine-day closure for many public pharmacies due to the Christmas holidays.
