Public perceptions of inflation diverge from reality

For years, there has been concern about supermarket prices rising due to inflation. According to an Ipsos poll, 85% of people believe food prices will increase in the first half of this year.

However, actual supermarket price increases have been modest, with last year’s inflation on consumer goods and services at 3.3%, while food prices only rose by 1.1%.
