Protests in Amsterdam Support Serbian Anti-Corruption Movement

Hundreds of people from the Serbian community gathered at Dam Square in Amsterdam to show solidarity with activists in Serbia. The demonstrations in Serbia are demanding government accountability for the collapse of a train station roof in Novi Sad in early November, which resulted in fifteen fatalities.

The Amsterdam protest began with the reading of the victims’ names, followed by a fifteen-minute silence—one minute for each victim. Participants also read the four main demands of Serbia’s anti-corruption movement.
