The Public Prosecution Service has requested a one-year prison sentence for Heerke Kooistra, the former owner of Big Bazar, as confirmed by the prosecution following a report by the Leeuwarder Courant. Kooistra is accused of failing to maintain proper financial records for his various companies, allegedly withholding information from the Tax and Customs Administration, which impacted their ability to determine his tax liabilities.
In court today in Zwolle, the prosecution announced the sentence demand: one year in prison plus six months suspended. A suspended sentence does not require serving time unless certain conditions are violated.
