Pope Francis Calls for Peace in Christmas Blessing

In Vatican City, Pope Francis, aged 88, delivered the traditional “urbi et orbi” Christmas blessing for the city of Rome and the world. Before giving the blessing, he called for mercy and reconciliation, stating that Jesus is the gateway to peace.

The Pope addressed the situation in Ukraine, urging dialogue and negotiations to achieve a just peace. Earlier today, Ukraine was targeted by a major Russian airstrike on its energy sector.
