In Hoogvliet, near Rotterdam, police shot two suspects during a pursuit last night, injuring both men. The individuals are a 20-year-old from Rotterdam and a 35-year-old from Capelle aan den IJssel.
Shortly before midnight, a report of a threat involving a firearm in Hellevoetsluis was received. Officers quickly identified two men in a car who fled, leading to the chase.
According to police, warning shots were fired before aiming directly. The suspects have been arrested and taken to a hospital.
In their vehicle, police found an object resembling a firearm. The Dutch National Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the police shooting, a standard procedure when people are injured by police gunfire.
