Plane from Azerbaijan crashes in Kazakhstan

A passenger plane from Azerbaijan crashed this morning in Aqtau, located in western Kazakhstan. Initial reports indicate that there were 72 people on board.

The aircraft, an Embraer E190AR, belonged to Azerbaijan’s national airline and was en route from Baku to Grozny in the Russian republic of Chechnya. Authorities in Kazakhstan report that six individuals survived the crash.
