NTR media director Willemijn Francissen will not return to her position and will leave on February 1 instead of September as originally intended. Francissen has been on leave since July due to an investigation into NTR’s work culture.
She stepped aside to allow an external investigation to take place. The investigation faced issues, with an initial culture study being halted due to participant anonymity concerns.
A follow-up report revealed numerous serious allegations against Francissen, leading to the resignation of the entire supervisory board in late November. Media Minister Bruins appointed Koos van der Steenhoven as the new supervisor, who agreed with Francissen on her earlier departure.
Francissen is thanked for her “efforts and achievements over the past years.” She stated that the investigation has taken so long that the period until September is too short to effectively fulfill her role and wants to focus on her future, “although unfortunately not at NTR.”
