Doctors Without Borders and Human Rights Watch claim that Israel may be committing genocide in Gaza, based on their separate investigations. Legally, proving genocide is challenging and time-consuming.
Israel denies the accusations, which have not been legally proven. However, multiple countries and organizations have accused Israel of genocide for denying Palestinians access to resources amid conflict.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Oren Marmorstein, refutes these claims, stating they have facilitated resource access despite attacks. Doctors Without Borders highlights significant signs of “ethnic cleansing” in northern Gaza based on their field staff’s observations, aligning with other experts’ conclusions.
Amnesty International previously reported similar findings. Israel has consistently denied such allegations, citing self-defense and adherence to international law.
Karel Hendriks, director of Doctors Without Borders Netherlands, expresses concerns about using the term genocide due to potential impacts on their operations and staff safety in Gaza. Israel has yet to respond to these recent accusations.
