Nancy Pelosi hospitalized in Luxembourg

Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, has been hospitalized in Luxembourg while attending events for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. The specific medical issue has not been disclosed.

According to her spokesperson Ian Krager on X, Pelosi is “receiving excellent care from doctors and medical staff” and anticipates returning home to the U.S. soon, continuing her work from the hospital. Pelosi, representing California in the House, was in Luxembourg with a congressional delegation.

She was scheduled to participate with 17 other members but was unable to attend due to her health. The hospitalization occurs shortly after Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell suffered a wrist sprain and facial cuts from a fall at the U.S. Capitol.

Pelosi, 84, was Speaker from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 until stepping down in 2023, though she remains in Congress.
