Mistakes in construction delay Dutch school opening by years

Students at a primary school in Oost-Souburg, Zeeland, finally attended classes in their new building this morning. The school was initially constructed incorrectly, causing years of delay.

“They have waited a long time,” said school principal Raymond Naerebout to Omroep Zeeland. The 240 students of Tweemaster-Kameleon entered through the correct entrance over a red carpet and past a balloon arch.

In 2022, the entrance was on the wrong side; the foundation and structure were completed but rotated 180 degrees from the construction plans.
