After an extensive investigation, Marilyn Manson will not face prosecution. The American rock musician was accused of sexual assault and domestic violence, but the Los Angeles district attorney stated the accusations are too old and lack sufficient evidence.
“The domestic violence allegations are beyond the statute of limitations, and the sexual assault claims cannot be proven,” the district attorney said. “We recognize and commend the courage and resilience of the women who came forward.” In 2021, authorities in Los Angeles announced an investigation into Brian Warner, Manson’s real name.
Multiple women alleged they were victims of violence or abuse by Manson between 2009 and 2011, following statements by his ex-fiancée, actress Evan Rachel Wood, who claimed he “horrifically abused” her for years. His record label and the TV network AMC severed ties with the singer, known as a ‘shock rocker’ in the 1990s.
Settlement Esmé Bianco, known for Game of Thrones, sued Manson in 2021 for sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Bianco alleged that Manson violated human trafficking laws by bringing her from the UK to California for non-existent roles in music videos and films.
Manson allegedly locked her in a bedroom without food, whipped her, administered electric shocks, and threatened to rape her at night, according to the lawsuit. Manson denied the allegations and sued ex-fiancée Wood for defamation, but dropped the case two months ago after most of it was dismissed.
A settlement was reached in 2023 in the case between Bianco and Manson.
