Manhunt in Brussels after metro station shooting

Belgian police are actively searching for suspects involved in a shooting at a Brussels metro station, where a weapon resembling a Kalashnikov was reportedly used. According to VRT, the suspects may have fled into the metro tunnel.

Metro traffic in the Belgian capital is heavily disrupted. The shooting incident occurred at around 6:15 a.m.

at Clemenceau metro station in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht. Footage shows an individual firing what appears to be a Kalashnikov, followed by two or three suspects fleeing into the station.

Police confirm that shots were fired into the air, not aimed at people, and no injuries have been reported. Heavily armed police units, in cooperation with the railway police, are combing the tunnels in search of the suspects.

Metro service is partially suspended, with several stations closed. The municipal transport company reports significant disruption, affecting thousands of commuters.
