The deputy mayor of Los Angeles, Brian Williams, is under investigation for allegedly making a bomb threat against his own city hall. The FBI searched Williams’ home yesterday.
The Los Angeles police identified him as the “probable” source of the threat made earlier this year. Due to the local police’s connections to the deputy mayor, the case was referred to the FBI.
Williams has been placed on leave pending the investigation. A mayor’s spokesperson stated that the matter is being taken very seriously.
Police found no immediate threat at the time of the bomb threat. The FBI has not disclosed details about the investigation and no arrests have been made.
Williams has not yet responded to the allegations, and the motive remains unclear.
