Login issues persist on DUO website

The website of the Dutch Education Executive Agency (DUO) has been experiencing login problems since yesterday. The issue lies with the system responsible for login authorization.

A spokesperson stated that it is unclear when the issue will be resolved. DUO had previously announced that the problems were expected to be resolved this morning, but this has not been achieved “despite numerous tests.” Students who pursued higher education between 2015 and 2023 often did not receive a basic grant due to the loan system and might be eligible for compensation from DUO.

The compensation amounts to €34.17 for each month the student did not receive a basic grant. Notifications have been paused.

These notifications will be sent automatically, requiring no action from individuals. “However, out of curiosity, people likely try to log in,” the spokesperson mentioned.

Some individuals manage to log in despite the issues. “Due to the disruption, we have paused sending notifications,” DUO stated.

“Sending will resume only when the issue is resolved.” 600,000 individuals are still awaiting notification regarding their eligibility for compensation.
