Landslide Strands 1500 in French Alps

In the French Alps, approximately 1,500 individuals spent the night in emergency shelters due to being stranded by rockfalls resulting from a landslide. A motorist was injured.

Three large boulders landed on the N90 near Aigueblanche, north of Moûtiers in Savoie, leading to several ski resorts becoming inaccessible. Traffic was backed up for up to 30 kilometers, with around 10,000 cars stranded last night, according to the French police.

The affected travelers mainly included winter sports enthusiasts heading to ski resorts like Tarentaise, La Plagne, and Les Arcs.
