A KLM aircraft flying from Oslo to Amsterdam made an emergency landing at Torp Airport in southern Norway due to a malfunction shortly after takeoff. The plane landed at 19:14, according to Norwegian police.
Emergency services responded, but no injuries were reported. The pilots noted smoke coming from the left engine and were unable to control the aircraft after landing.
The plane skidded and came to rest in the grass next to the runway. There were 182 people on board, including crew.
Passengers were transported by bus to the terminal, and everyone was out of the aircraft by shortly before 9 PM. The National Accident Investigation Board has initiated an investigation into the cause of the malfunction.
