Jay-Z accused in civil lawsuit of rape alongside Sean Combs

Rapper Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, is accused in a civil lawsuit alongside Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl 24 years ago, according to NBC News. Jay-Z denies the allegations, claiming extortion.

The accuser, known as “Jane Doe,” reportedly tried to gain access to the MTV Video Awards without a ticket, approaching limousine drivers for help. One driver, working for Combs, invited her to an afterparty.

Upon arriving at the party, she says she was given a drink that made her feel dizzy. She alleges that both Combs and Carter raped her while others watched.

She seeks unspecified damages. Jay-Z has criticized the lawsuit, labeling it an attempt at extortion.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who filed the lawsuit, did not comment. This is the first case Buzbee has filed involving another celebrity besides Combs.

Diddy is currently in custody awaiting trial on charges including human trafficking and sexual abuse.
