Iranian men charged in US over deadly drone attack in Jordan

In the United States, two Iranian men have been indicted in connection with a deadly drone attack in Jordan. The US prosecutor accuses them of supplying secret technology used in the drone.

The attack, which occurred earlier this year, resulted in the deaths of three US soldiers and injured 47 others when a drone struck their living quarters. The troops were stationed at a US base near the Iraqi and Syrian borders.

It has been determined that the drone was mistaken for an American one, which is why it was not intercepted. The attack is believed to have been carried out by the Shiite militia Kataib Hezbollah, a militant group supported by Iran.

Following the drone attack, the US conducted retaliatory airstrikes in Iraq and Syria at 85 locations. According to US authorities, the drone contained American technology that was not supposed to be exported due to trade sanctions against Iran, specifically for its navigation system.

Both indicted men are from Iran; one was arrested in Italy on Monday, while the other resided in the US. They are charged with conspiracy to violate US export laws, and the man arrested in Italy is also charged with providing support to a terrorist organization.
