The New Social Contract (NSC) party, founded last year by Pieter Omtzigt, is facing internal turmoil as treasurer Ralph Joosten has been relieved of his duties by the party’s board. Kilian Wawoe, a board member and co-founder of NSC, cited complaints about Joosten’s cooperation as the reason for his suspension.
However, Joosten claims the conflict stems from potential financial irregularities he discovered in the party’s accounts, including possible fraud. Joosten has called for an external audit and reported the issues to the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.
Wawoe contends that complaints about Joosten predate his financial allegations, leading to his removal. The board has initiated an external audit, expected to conclude in January, to address these concerns.
The Ministry of the Interior has yet to confirm receiving any official reports of financial irregularities.
