A furniture maker is suing the municipality of Oegstgeest over the unauthorized use of a photo in the town hall. The municipality used a photo of a coaster shaped like a local roof tile, both created by the man.
Eric Groenendijk discovered the photo displayed on a large scale in the town hall during Open Monument Day in September. He expressed willingness to resolve the issue but was unsatisfied with the offered compensation of 100 euros.
The municipality claimed the image was believed to be rights-free and has since covered the wallpaper, promising replacement. Groenendijk seeks damages through the court.
