Four youths arrested for warehouse fire in Waalwijk

The police have arrested four boys in connection with a fire that destroyed an abandoned warehouse in Waalwijk at the end of last year. The fire broke out on December 30 at around 10 PM, causing flames to shoot out of the roof and releasing asbestos.

The fire was reported under control shortly after 2 AM. No injuries were reported.

Police quickly suspected arson, as the vacant building, formerly home to the Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum, had been vandalized previously and was slated for demolition, according to Omroep Brabant. Images of the suspects were shown on the crime investigation program Bureau Brabant two days ago.

Following the broadcast, the four turned themselves in at the police station. They have all been arrested and remain in custody.

The police state that they are all from Waalwijk, but their ages have not been disclosed.
