Former US President Jimmy Carter Dies at 100

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, known for his humble beginnings and post-presidency humanitarian efforts, has died at the age of 100. Elected in 1976 as a political outsider, Carter’s tenure ended in 1980 after losing to Ronald Reagan.

His presidency was marked by economic challenges and strained U.S.-Soviet relations. However, Carter later gained admiration for his dedication to democracy and human rights, earning a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his efforts.

Born in Georgia in 1924, Carter was a peanut farmer and naval officer before entering politics. In recent years, he continued his humanitarian work and teaching.
