In northern France, five individuals were shot dead. A 22-year-old Frenchman reported to the police, claiming responsibility for the act.
Four bodies were discovered in Loon-Plage near Dunkirk. According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, the shootings occurred at camp Mardyck, where illegal migrants were living in tents by the roadside.
The victims reportedly include two security guards and two Kurdish migrants. The fifth body was found in Wormhout, approximately 10 kilometers south of Dunkirk, and is believed to be the 29-year-old manager of a transport company.
He was shot near his home. The suspect turned himself in at a police station in Ghyvelde, east of Dunkirk, with weapons found in his vehicle.
The police are investigating the incident, and no motive has been disclosed. Le Parisien reported that the suspect had a business dispute with the transport company’s manager.
