Fire in IJsselstein Injures Three, Street Evacuated

A house fire in IJsselstein injured three people this morning, prompting the evacuation of the entire street due to the fire and heavy smoke, according to RTV Utrecht. When the fire broke out around 7:50 a.m., three individuals were present in the house.

Two managed to leave independently, while emergency services rescued the third. Their injury severity has not been disclosed, but all three were taken to the hospital.

Additionally, two neighbors inhaled smoke and were assessed by paramedics, then referred to a general practitioner. A spokesperson from the Utrecht Safety Region (VRU) informed the regional broadcaster that the house was completely burned down, and as of 10:00 a.m., the fire was not yet under control.

Firefighting efforts are prolonged due to inaccessible areas. Residents of Engelandstraat have been accommodated by the municipality, though the exact number is unknown.

The fire department advises others in the neighborhood to keep windows and doors closed due to the large amount of smoke and the presence of solar panels on the roof, which may release harmful particles. It is unclear when residents will be allowed to return home, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
