A separatist leader from Ukraine’s Donetsk region was seriously injured in a bombing at an apartment complex in Moscow, as reported by Russian state news agencies and Telegram channels. The explosion resulted in the death of at least one person and injured four others.
No group has claimed responsibility yet, although a similar incident last year was claimed by Ukraine. According to government-controlled news agencies RIA and TASS, the bomb detonated in the lobby of the Scarlet Sails luxury apartment complex on the Moskva River, about 12 kilometers from the Kremlin.
The target, paramilitary leader Armen Sarkisyan, entered the lobby with his bodyguards when the explosion occurred. Authorities describe it as an “intentional assassination attempt” on Sarkisyan, who is now in critical condition.
The newspaper Kommersant reported that he died in the hospital, though this has not been officially confirmed. Footage on the Baza Telegram channel shows the lobby heavily damaged.
