EU proposes stricter asylum seeker return policy

Asylum seekers without the right to asylum should be more easily expelled from the EU, with all European countries adopting uniform, stricter return rules. Countries should also have the option to hold rejected asylum seekers in deportation centers outside the EU, known as return hubs.

This proposal was announced by European Commissioner Brunner, who believes his plans will simplify the process of sending people back in practice.
